Travelling down the west coast, we stop at a popular spot along the beach front for a stretch.

We arrive at camp just before 1pm and are allowed in early as long as we do not use any facilities which suited us as we had been told about Jackson Bay and thought we would head out there. The lady told us the Crayfish pot was open from 11am to 3pm.

Jacksons Bay is about 50 km south of Haast down the coastline and is one of the most unspoiled areas in NZ and just beautiful. The Crayfish Pot was also great and would definitely come back here again!

| Tried to help some stupid Aussie who thought he could drive on the beach in his rental. |
This took about an hour as Daryl would not be beaten, while I sat in the car (being the smallest) trying to follow instructions on how to get it out while being bitten alive by the sandflies! In the end we finally gave up and tried to find them some help at the local garage and info centre.
