Blenheim to Havelock - Day 11

After meeting Rita this morning and settling our payment, we find out she is 97 - wow what a lady. We pack up and head off stopping not far away finding a market, so we poke around there for a while before leaving again.

The GPS takes us through the back roads in Spring Creek full of vineyards under the mountains and soon we are already in Havelock as only about 45kms away.  We drive around looking for a park and eventually call into the camp which is in town and they very nicely let us in at 11am.  This was great as we could set everything up and then wander up town to have lunch at The Mussel Pot, where we went several years ago with friends.

What a view for your work place

The marina is just behind the campground and is lovely for a walk - we do the loop around the marina and camp very morning and night.

Dry hills in the background provide a contrast to the native bush.

The camp is so serene and has a really nice feel - we are both surprised as we were not sure about staying in Havelock but it is lovely and we have decided to stay another day.
