Napier - Art Deco Weekend - Day 4

Up with the sparrows fart for sunrise over Te Mata Peak today.

Heading to Napier for the Art Deco parade.  Parking a distance down the waterfront, we have the trolley for Goochie as his little legs will not be able to cope with all the walking and crowds.

We run into an old friend of Daryl's from Wanganui (Tom Cluston) within a block from setting off and from where we parked our ute, approx 2 kms from the centre of town where the Art Deco was all happening.

Our first time at Art Deco, we were both not sure what to expect, our timing was pretty good, as we arrived not long before the vintage car parade. Most if not all the drivers and passengers were dressed in period outfits & all looked very impressive.

We happened to run into a few people we knew, Huge & Bronwyn Green, Lloyd & Annie Wilson who were cruising with Rob & Stephanie Flower in Robs beautiful 40 Roadster, plus Bert Dove who was in his Chrysler Boat Roadster, all looking Dapper.

The star of the parade was a cool selection of Bugatti's, various models & years & all beautifully restored, as you can see in the images.

The Gooch was sort of enjoying the day, keeping a low profile.

Warbirds over Napier, an aerial display after the vintage car parade, a Spitfire & P51 Mustang, put on a great display over the waterfront, with quite a few low buzzers over the crowds, they were certainly having fun & making the most of the time in the air.

Famous wine country, Havelock North

After the having fun at the Art Deco, we headed back to Havelock North to have a look around the town centre.
